I warmly welcome the Bale of Sagbon Town, distinguished Chiefs and Elders; the Headmaster of Yewa North Primary School, Sagbon; the Parent-Teachers Association; members of the press, government officials; and all esteemed guests present here today.

You are all welcome to this august and memorable occasion.

Today’s event is not just a ceremony but a fulfillment of purpose and a demonstration of our commitment to humanity. PAPADEF, which stands for Pa Philip Akintoye Development Foundation, was established in 2009 in memory of my beloved father, Pa Philip Oluwafunmilayo Akintoye, to continue his legacy of service to humanity.

PAPADEF is a non-political, non-religious, and non-governmental organization committed to promoting education, supporting women and children, and advancing community development. Since inception, our impact has been felt across seven states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Across these states, we have demonstrated our commitment to education through grants, payment of school fees, and distribution of educational materials. We have equally carried out empowerments programmes and finances for widows and artisans, and the provision of walking and hearing aids.

I am pleased to inform you that this borehole being commissioned today is the 7th borehole provided by the foundation. The projects we are commissioning today are the borehole and the 3.5KV generator. These projects underscore our commitment to improving lives. We believe that access to clean water will enhance hygiene, health, and overall well-being, because, truly, water is life. The generator will also support for learning and other academic activities for the school.

This intervention followed a request from the school and the Sagbon Community Development Society, and we sincerely appreciate the role played by Dr. Aayodeji Idowu in facilitating this project.

However, it is important to draw attention to the dilapidated state of the school buildings, which urgently requires rebuilding into modern structures with adequate infrastructure.

We therefore call on corporate organizations, individual philanthropists, and government at all levels to come to the aid of this school and support the creation of a safe and conducive learning environment for our children.

I encourage the community and school management to ensure proper maintenance of these facilities for long-term use. I also appreciate all stakeholders whose contributions made today possible.
I want to conclude by saying that PAPADEF remains committed to impacting lives and fostering sustainable development in our communities.
